My lessons are conducted remotely using pdfs and email. I do not offer video classes. Using Skype or other similar video conferencing software to communicate with primary school aged children is not recommended by the NSW Department of Education. This is a policy decision with respect to children protection legislation.
The selective placement test is changing from 2021. Emphasis will be put on higher order thinking skills in English, such as inferring meaning. There will be fewer questions in mathematics. Gifted English education is my area of expertise, having spent 8 years in an Opportunity Class setting.
Note: The test is $60, is non-refundable and is not part of the term fee. There is a written component and a comprehension task. If your child is successful, you will be invited to enrol. A high standard of achievement must be maintained. Students who underperform will not be invited to return for further study. The full course fee is $700 (inc GST) * Students who performed well in Term 4, 2020 lessons are eligible to return without sitting the selection test. Email me for confirmation.
